Our contractors have attended site to commence the necessary works to remove the windblown tree between Bridge 11 and Bridge 11A, however, due to the size they have only managed to clear the towpath and are looking to reattend to remove from the navigation on Wednesday 26 November.
We will provide a further update on or before Thursday, 27 November.

Due to the number of fallen trees in the North West following Storm Claudia, our teams are working hard to reopen our navigations and towpaths. However, we do not yet have an update on when the canal will be fully open, as we are still dealing with a significant number of fallen trees. We will provide further updates as soon as they become available.
We would like to thank our customers for reporting these issues, and we appreciate your patience as we work through multiple affected sites this week.

Tree blocking navigation & towpath
Please be advised navigation is closed between South of Bridge 11a and Bridge 11 on The Lancaster Canal due to a windblown tree.
Contractors have been informed, and we anticipate they will be on site to remove the obstruction.
An update will be provided tomorrow.
