Due to the number of fallen trees in the North West following Storm Claudia, our teams are working hard to reopen our navigations and towpaths. However, we do not yet have an update on when the canal will be fully open, as we are still dealing with a significant number of fallen trees. We will provide further updates as soon as they become available.
We would like to thank our customers for reporting these issues, and we appreciate your patience as we work through multiple affected sites this week.

A large tree has fallen and is currently blocking navigation and towpath, near Bridge 21, Lumb Lane Bridge on the Ashton Canal. Our teams have attended the site, however due to the size and position of the tree we need to instruct our specialist contractor to assist with the removal.
At present, we are unable to confirm when the contractor will be on site as adverse weather conditions from Storm Claudia are impacting our waterways across the North West and causing delays.
We will provide a further update on or before Monday 17 November.
