Descriptions

Update 15 December 2025, 3:51pm

Dredging is due to commence on Wednesday 17th December to Monday 22nd December, conditions dependent.

The hopper will be lifted into the water at Newark Marina and be assembled at Carlton Wharf, due to restrictions at Trent Bridge.

The hopper will then be moored up over the festive break, ready for further dredging to commence in the new year.

Update 21 November 2025, 2:44pm

Works have been delayed due to contractor resource availability. We are working with the contractor to commence operations at the earliest opportunity and will provide updates as the situation improves.

Update 13 November 2025, 4:21pm

Please note that this dredging work has been delayed by one week and will now start on Monday 24th November and finish on Friday 12th December, and includes the section of the River Trent adjacent to the entrance of Kings Marina in Newark.

Original 6 November 2025, 12:40pm

Dredging will be taking place at Cromwell bottom Lock approach on the River Trent between 17th November and 5th December.   There will be two large floating pontoons with an excavator operating at Cromwell Lock, together with hoppers, tugs and dredgers in this area whilst this work is being undertaken.     Please be aware of increased activity, proceed with care and follow any guidance from staff on site.
