Following the recent heavy rainfall this weekend, water levels have improved sufficiently to allow us to re-open the Leicester Line from 9.30am on Wednesday 19th November. Foxton Lock Flight is now operating on winter opening times so last boat in is at 3pm.
We continue to monitor the situation and may need to take action to close again in the future, possibly at short notice, should further rainfall not be forthcoming and water levels decline again.

The continued lack of prolonged rainfall means that our reservoirs are depleted and the feed from them needs to be turned off to allow them to replenish.
Therefore from 4pm on Thursday 6th November the navigation from Foxton Lock Flight through to Kilby Lock 30 will be closed. Last boat in for passage through Foxton Locks is 3pm.
It is vital that we close to allow the reservoirs to recover fully over the winter.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this notice by Thursday 11th December or sooner if the situation changes.
