North Yorkshire County Council are replacing Gallows Bridge and regrading the access staircase starting from Monday 27th October and continuing to 20th December 2025. To facilitate the installation of a new bridge and modifications to the steps at Gallows bridge Skipton suspension of visitor moorings will be required. The visitor moorings will be suspended, both on the towpath side and the off side for 30m each side of Gallows Bridge, Skipton. The boating facility block will remain open, but the bin store will be relocated. Gallows Bridge will not be available for pedestrian access whilst the works are occurring. Boaters will be able to access the towpath at Belmont Bridge if they moor on the remaining area between Gallows Bridge and Belmont Bridge (excluding the 20m area surrounding Gallows Bridge). Cavendish Street car park will also be restricted in size as this is being used for the site compound The restrictions will apply from 27 October to 20 December 2025
