While the prolonged period of dry weather has now ended and rainfall so far this month is above average, there has been little to no recovery in the reservoir water levels at Welford, since the closure. We are hopeful that based on the anticipated increase in rainfall over the coming weeks, that we may be able to lift the closures and to allow movement before the start of the winter stoppage programme. If no further issues arise then the situation will be reviewed on the 24th October with a proposed re-opening on the 27th October 2025.
We will update this notice as soon as we have further information.

The Welford Arm remains closed due to low water levels.
We will update this notice on Tuesday 14th October or sooner if we have more information.

The Welford Arm of the Grand Union is being closed due to low water levels. We are attempting to refill this pound from the Welford Reservoir and will review the situation on Monday, 13th October.
Lock 1, Welford will be closed, however, the Customer Service Facility remains open.
