Towpath and navigation remains closed due to a large tree that has fallen by Bridge 70 on the Macclesfield Canal.
Due to the recent Storm Amy our contractors are experiencing a high volume of work, and have scheduled the removal tomorrow.Â
We will provide a further update on or before Friday 10 October.

Fallen tree
A large tree has fallen and is currently blocking navigation at Bridge 70, on the Macclesfield Canal. Our teams have attended the site, however due to the size of the tree we need to instruct our specialist contractor to assist with the removal.
At present, we are unable to confirm when the contractor will be on site as adverse weather conditions from Storm Amy are impacting our waterways across the North West and causing delays.
We will provide a further update on or before Wednesday 8 October.
