Completed: We are pleased to inform you that water levels have been successfully raised above York Street Lock, and the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal is now open to navigation. Please proceed with caution when travelling through this section, as although conditions have improved, water levels remain lower than usual and may still pose challenges for deeper-drafted boats. Our Operatives are continuing to work on getting as much water as we can spare to Stourport in order to maintain navigable levels throughout the area.

Please be advised we have had to close the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal between Stourport, Bridge 4, Wallfield Bridge and Lock 6, Kidderminster Lock, due to low water, boats have been getting stuck here.
We are running water through to try and help raise the water level, this will take time, and we need boats not moving today while we try and top the water up.
We will monitor the level, review and update tomorrow.
