Please be advised that contractors will be carrying out essential tree felling works to safely remove a large, dangerous tree between Grindley Brook Locks 5 & 6 on Sunday 3rd August, between 8:30am and 1pm.
For the safety of all users, both the navigation and towpath will be closed during this time. Pedestrian access will be allowed at safe intervals, as directed by the contractors.
Boaters are requested not to proceed through the locks until instructed by on-site staff.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding while these necessary safety works are undertaken.
