We usually aim to carry out our major works during the winter months as part of our intensive maintenance period. However, this isn't always ideal when working on rivers, as winter flooding can make it difficult or even impossible to access our sites.

In the past, for example, we carried out works on the River Severn during the winter but had to extend the project due to flooding delays. To help avoid similar issues this time and ensure we can complete these vital repairs, we're planning to carry out the work earlier in the year.

As a result, we'll be closing the navigation from 22 September to 17 October 2025.

We're sharing this information as early as possible to give our boating customers plenty of time to make alternative plans, and we really appreciate your understanding while we carry out these important works.

You are welcome to contact us at [email protected] or 03030 404040 if you would like to discuss this information with a member of our Customer Service Team.
