We will be undertaking works at Brades Lock 3, including the replacement of both the top and bottom gates, as well as the installation of a new lock ladder.
To carry out these works safely, the navigation will be closed from Lock 1 (Brades Top Lock) through to Lock 3 from 15 September to 24 October 2025.
Alternative routes will be available via both the Old Main Line and the New Main Line to minimise disruption.
While we typically carry out lock maintenance during our winter works period, the high volume of essential lock gate repairs and replacements scheduled across the West Midlands this year means that these works must take place during the boating season.
