Please be advised that a section of the offside waterway wall located between Lock 2 and Lock 3 on the Camp Hill Flight, Grand Union Canal in Bordesley, Birmingham, has been identified as requiring essential repairs.
In order to facilitate the necessary site investigations, we plan to implement the following navigation restrictions:
- Wednesday 16 July: The canal will be closed to navigation between Lock 2 and Lock 3 from 08:00 to 13:00 to allow for a temporary reduction in water level by approximately 500mm.
- Wednesday 16 July (from 17:00) to Thursday 17 July (until 12:00): A second closure will be in effect to enable an underwater camera investigation. This extended closure is required to maintain still water conditions to ensure the accuracy and safety of the inspection.
We kindly ask for your cooperation during these essential works and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. These investigations are vital to ensure the continued safety and structural integrity of the waterway infrastructure.
