The towpath remains closed between Bridge 1B (Lyons Bridge) and Lock 1 Poolstock Locks on the Leigh Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a partial collapse of a building owned by a third party.
We are continuing to work closely with the local authority and relevant parties to arrange the removal of debris from the collapsed building.
Navigation remains open, but please proceed through the area with caution, signage is in place for the short diversion.
We will provide a further update by Monday, 9 March.

The towpath remains closed between Bridge 1B, Lyons Bridge and Lock 1, Poolstock Locks on the Leigh Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a partial collapse of a third party owned building.
The local authority have installed barriers to ensure the safety of our customers whilst conversations continue between the third parties.
Whilst canal navigation remains open, please pass through the area with care and listen to any advice that may be given onsite.
Due to the integrity of the third party building and the process involved, this could be a slow process. An update will be provided by Monday 12 January.

The local authority has installed barriers to ensure the safety of our customers whilst conversations continue between the third parties.
Due to the integrity of the third party building and the process involved, this could be a slow process. An update will be provided by Thursday 6 November.
