Lock 5, near bridge 3, near Burscough

We want to advise that the works at Lock 5, Burscough will remain ongoing until Friday 20 February. The team is making good progress on site; however, the activity is taking slightly longer to complete than originally anticipated. There are no additional works causing delay — we simply need a short extension to ensure everything is finished to the required standard. Navigation will remain closed until the works are fully completed on Friday, and we'll reopen as soon as the site is safe to do so. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete this essential work.

A navigational closure is required to replace both ground paddles on the head gate of the lock.
