Our contractors have been able to carry out a temporary repair to the pumps and the levels have improved. The navigation is open, contractors are planning to carry out further repairs to resolve the issue.

The pumps are not operating as expected which has impacted water levels between Long Eaton Lock and Trent Lock on the Erewash Canal. Contractors have been instructed to attend and we are working hard to restore the levels.

Please do not navigate this stretch until the water levels are restored. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this notice as soon as we have any further information.
