Between Bedford Street Lock 1 and Lock 9

Please be advised that navigation will be temporarily closed on the Caldon Canal between Bedford Street Lock 1 and Lock 9 (Top Lock) from 4:00 PM today for a period of 24 hours, due to low water levels.

This temporary closure is necessary to allow water levels to recover in preparation for the weekend. The situation will be reviewed tomorrow morning, and if levels have sufficiently improved, the closure may be lifted earlier than planned.

Please note there is already a closure in place from Hazelhurst Top Lock to Froghall.
