Completed: We are pleased to confirm that the temporary repair to Lock 11 at Beeston Lock has been successful, and the lock is now open to navigation. Please note that while we await permanent repairs later this year, only one boat will be able to use the lock at a time. We are working with our teams to plan and schedule the permanent repair.

Our local engineering team has investigated the leak at Beeston Iron Lock on the Shropshire Union Canal and identified the need for a temporary repair to the cill.

Arrangements are being made for a work boat to carry out these temporary repairs until a permanent repair can take place.

There's severe leakage through the tail gates on the Beeston Iron lock that is draining the pound in between Beeston Iron and Beeston Stone causing boats to be grounded. The leakage is also preventing the lock to fill up sufficiently enough to open the head gates.
