We are continuing to experience low water levels between Aston Lock and Star Lock. To support recovery efforts, we have made the decision to fully close Aston Lock until 3pm today. This will allow us to retain as much water as possible in the affected section and prevent further loss.
We understand this may cause inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work to restore safe navigation levels. Please avoid moving through this stretch until advised, as boat movement continues to hinder the recovery process.
We will provide a further update later today once we have reassessed the water levels.

We are currently experiencing low water levels between Aston Lock and Star Lock, with the canal level approximately 450mm down at this time.
To help us restore the water level as quickly as possible, we kindly ask that boats refrain from moving through this pound while we work to top up the levels. If boats continue to move, it will significantly slow down the recovery process.
We anticipate that it will only take a couple of hours for levels to return to normal if movement is avoided. Your cooperation during this time will help ensure everyone can continue their journeys safely and without delay.
