Navigation Closure; Bridge 1 Stanley Lift Bridge, Peak Forest Canal

Navigation remains closed at Stanley Lift Bridge, Bridge 1, on the Peak Forest Canal due to a mechanical fault that is currently preventing the bridge from being safely operated.   Our engineers attended the site yesterday and have returned the bridge to its closed position. Investigations into the cause of the fault are ongoing, and specialist engineers are scheduled to attend tomorrow to carry out further tests.   We will provide a further update on Friday 16 May.
