Lock 81 and Top Lock 65, Near Wigan

Please be advised that, in addition to the advertised works at Locks 81 and 65, we will also be carrying out repair works at Lock 75, which require the lock to be dewatered. The stoppage dates and closure location remain unchanged as originally communicated. Both teams have coordinated to ensure these works can proceed safely and efficiently. Measures will be in place to maintain water flow past the work sites and manage lock flight control effectively. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while these important improvements are completed.

This navigation and towpath closure will encompass 2 pieces of work. The navigation will be closed from Lock 65 through to lock 85. We will be refurbishing the top gates of lock 81 and doing leak repair works to the bywash sluice at lock 65 & cleaning the bywash pipe there too.
