Locks 22, 26, 27 and 28 West, Diggle

Please be aware that works at Lock 22 will commence on 3rd November and are expected to take four weeks, completing on 28th November. At that point, the stoppage will revert to its original specification as previously advertised, with the navigation closed from the downstream point at Wool Road Car Park to the upstream point at Bridge 66 (Ward Lane Bridge), while works at Locks 26, 27, and 28 continue.

Please be advised that the scope of the current stoppage has been extended to include Lock 22. We will now be carrying out essential works at this location, including void filling, washwall rebuilding, and bywash repointing.  The nearest downstream winding hole for this stoppage will be at Uppermill.

This navigational closure encompases 3 pieces of work. The navigation will be closed from Bridge 66, Ward Lane bridge through to Bridge 71, Wool Road. Within this closure we will be replacing the head gates of locks 27 and 28 as well as replacing the top and bottom gates of lock 26. We will also be doing paddle repair works and repointing.
