Water levels downstream of the Erewash Canal along the Trent lock pound have not recovered and are at a lower level. The navigation closure is extended between Green Lock 68 and Trent Lock 60.
We are working to restore waters as quickly as possible and will update this notice by Monday 12th May or sooner if we have more information.

The temporary repair to the gate paddle is now complete.
However, water levels remain low between Greens Lock 68 and Dockholme Lock 62. The navigation is therefore currently closed.
We are working to restore waters as quickly as possible and will update this notice by Monday 12th May or sooner if we have more information.
Update 7 May 2025, 3:03pm
The repair to the gate collar is complete. However, we have had to remove a broken gate paddle from the lock during the repair works. We hope to return tomorrow with a temporary fix.
The lock remains closed until this work is completed. We will update this notice by 4pm tomorrow or sooner if we have more information.

Greens Lock 68 on the Erewash Canal is currently not operational as one of the lock gate collars has snapped.
We are working on a plan to repair this as quickly as possible.
Please do not operate the lock until repairs have been completed. We will update this notice by Thursday 8th May or sooner if we have more information.
