Description

Original 6 May 2025, 10:07am

We are carrying out a programme of essential repairs to the Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge, which crosses the River Weaver near Frodsham. The bridge, which is nearly 100 years old and based on a Victorian design, requires works to replace and repair existing mechanical and electrical elements to make it safe and fit for purpose. Specialist engineers will replace all electrical cables, as well as install a new control panel and new motors to operate the swing bridge. New flashing warning and navigation lights will be installed, as well as new systems that will ensure the bridge is always in the correct position, when open or closed.

This restriction will only apply to craft that normally require a bridge swing.
