Llanfoist Safety Gates (upstream and downstream), Embankment 8A, Llanfoist.

Due to additional work identified on site, the safety gate replacement will not be completed by the advertised stoppage end date of 19th December. During installation of the new gates, it was discovered that the quoins had shifted. Our team will carry out the necessary remedial work to ensure everything meets the required standards before completing the gate installation. This remedial work will be completed within the advertised stoppage period, and the navigation will reopen for the Christmas period until 5th January. From 5th January, a one-week restriction will be in place while the gates are fitted, running until 9th January. The navigation will remain open during this time, but boats may be asked to wait briefly while the site is made safe for passage. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
