Descriptions

Update 31 October 2025, 2:52pm

The contractor building the HS2 viaduct over the Oxford Canal no longer requires the full duration of the November 2025 navigation stoppage to undertake their planned works. The works will start on 12 November 2025 instead of 3 November 2025. Post Christmas stoppage of the canal will still be required at this location by HS2's contractor.  Towpath users will be directed onto an established towpath diversion route around the works.

Original 6 May 2025, 9:29am

A navigation and towpath closure are required for construction works for a new high speed 2 railway viaduct.
