Lock 87, Ham lock, near Thatcham

Unfortunately, we now require additional time on site to complete these works to the required standard. The stoppage will now end on 9th January. We have experienced challenges with effectively damming the lock, which has caused delays in replacing the bottom gates. To ensure the works are completed safely and to the highest standard, the current stoppage will be extended. This extension will include the Christmas break period, during which the lock will remain closed. Our team is working extended hours, including weekends, to recover as much time as possible before Christmas and to minimise disruption afterwards. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Please note the towpath will no longer be closed during these works.

A navigation and towpath closure are required for top and bottom gates replacement.
