Harecastle Tunnel is a 1.6 mile long, Georgian era canal tunnel on the Trent and Mersey canal in Stoke-on-Trent. At nearly 200 years old, the tunnel is an impressive feat of engineering and a c a unique place to film. The southern portal is set within an open grass-covered space with a gravel carpark. The entrance is situated within the fan house with doors that close when a boat is inside the tunnel. Above the tunnel sits a traditional canal cottage and behind that, there is an access road.
There are temporary moorings spaces for boaters on both sides of the tunnel. The inside of the tunnel is accessible by boat and passages must be booked with the tunnel keepers in advance.
