Engine Arm Aqueduct - New Mainline Canal

Engine Arm is an elegant cast iron aqueduct, built by Thomas Telford in 1825 to carry water from Edgbaston Reservoir.

The Engine Arm Aqueduct, in the Galton Valley area of Smethwick, Birmingham is Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade II* listed structure. It was built in 1825 to carry water from the Edgbaston Reservoir .

This location features two canals side by side, the New Mainline Canal and the Old Mainline Canal, offering plenty of options for filming. There are footbridges, locks, embankments and red-brick industrial buildings. Today, it's a serene spot surrounded by trees and shrubs, making it an ideal setting for a historical drama.
