One of my New Year’s resolutions has been to ensure that we continue to celebrate the great work that our technical volunteers do. And another resolution was to try and be innovative when doing this!
I filmed some footage of one of our fabulous environmental volunteers, Ian, last summer, and I have been meaning to use this. After he approved its use (he is too modest) I thought this would be a great time to share this with the wider world.
Here Ian explains what he got from volunteering with our environment team. I hope it inspires you to join us, we always have interesting opportunities coming up, so keep an eye on our volunteering pages.
See you next month!
Amanda is a volunteer coordinator for the Technical Team within the Trust. Whether it’s finding a student for a long-term placement with the environment team or assisting the hydrology team with a team of volunteers to count boat movements, she can be counted on to find the right people for the role. Amanda joined the Trust in July 2012 and previously worked as the Volunteer Leader in the East Midlands. She has worked at other charities in people engagement roles, but is at her happiest besides the water.See more blogs from Volunteer coordinator
