No trip to our marvellous museum would be complete without climbing aboard a narrowboat to explore at least a little part of the Shropshire Union Canal.
Above is our boat Centaur. Where once horses pulled the buttys and barges on the Shropshire Union Canal, you can now explore aboard our 30 minute boat trip.
Time slows to a traditional 4mph as you travel through a fascinating industrial landscape criss-crossed with past and present transport systems. Your tour guide will tell tall tales and stories that bring to life the changing fortunes of the canal and its people.
And you don't have to visit the museum to take a boat trip. Pop along just for the boat trip if you like. Although you may want to stop by our newly refurbished café and shop too.
|Adults and concessions||£3.00|

The grooves on the old Victorian Bridge worn down by the ropes of horses as they pulled narrow boats to and from Ellesmere Port docks.
The local wildlife and the sun glinting on the water.
