Canal pairs championships 2024

The annual canal pairs championships will see a dozen regional qualifying heats taking place during the late spring, summer and early autumn across England and Wales.

We would like to thank Paul Edwards for agreeing to volunteer to help us with the 2024 event co-ordination along with the various clubs and local organisers whose hard work make the event possible.

Entering the 2024 championships

The Canal Pairs is back for 2024 with Canal & River Trust once again managing the event. We have a variety of venues lined up across the UK canal network that will see plenty of bites and ignite friendly local competition once more, with the prospect of appearing in a large atmospheric grand final.

Our best estimate is that there will be around £8,000 in the final prize pot with the top 10 pairs being paid out.

Grand final 2024

Saturday 12 October - Shropshire Union Canal, Nantwich, Cheshire. Lead event organiser will be Ben Clarke.

We look forward to seeing you on the cut this summer and wish you all the best in the qualifiers!

Qualifying heats will not be deemed quorate unless a minimum of 11 pairs are paid up, and will subsequently not go ahead.
