Fossdyke Navigation canoe trail: Torksey to Lincoln

Enjoy a lock-free paddle through 10 miles of open countryside before finishing in Lincoln city centre.

Distance: 11 miles

Start: Torksey Lock, LN1 1XJ

The first three miles of this route take you through glorious open countryside with the odd house dotted here and there.

You’ll then meet up with the 157, which joins you on your right for the next section of your journey.

At about five miles you’ll pass under the railway bridge at Saxilby. The railway then joins you on your left.

At seven miles you’ll pass Burton Waters Marina and housing estate before heading back into open fields.

At 9 miles you’ll pass under the A46 before spotting Carholme Golf Course on your right. From here you’ll enter the built up are of Lincoln city centre.

The final stretch of your journey will take you into the heart of the city, where you’ll be able to spot the cathedral and other famous sights.
