Making life better by water
Once busy with barges laden with limestone for the nearby lime kilns, Welford Wharf, at the end of the Welford arm of the Leicester Line of the Grand Union Canal, is now a picture of rural tranquillity.
It's a great place for country walks and spotting wildlife. Especially if you take a stroll up to the nearby Welford and Sulby Reservoirs.

Once you're there, it won't cost you a thing
There are no public toilets on site, the nearest can be found in the village and in the two pubs.
There's a small amount of free visitor car parking at Welford Wharf and Welford Reservoir
There are a number of visitor moorings along the Welford arm as well as some of our boating services
