The charity making life better by water

Torskey Lock Fossdyke end

Torksey Lock

Torksey Lock on the Fossdyke Navigation, just off of the River Trent near Lincoln, was the scene of much activity as ships and shallow bottomed barges called 'ketches' passed through.

Today it is still a working river but now better known as a wonderful place for leisure craft, wildlife spotting and a Sunday stroll - perfect for a visit with the kids or an afternoon of gongoozling.

Further along the main road into Torksey village is the remains of the old castle with stunning views over the River Trent.
