Devizes Wharf

A few minutes from the centre of Devizes lies Devizes Wharf, on the Kennet & Avon Canal. With a history dating back to Norman times, Devizes is a small town with 500 listing buildings surviving from the 16th century.

At Devizes Wharf, explore the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust Museum, where you can find out more about the local area, visit the café, and embark on a boat trip.

A short walk aong the towpath will take you to the spectacular Caen Hill. This wonder of our waterways features 29 locks and was a major feat of engineering at the end of the 18th century. At the top, stop for a moment to appreciate the grand views of the beautiful surrounding countryside.
