Lock keepers on duty

Our small army of volunteer lock keepers have the experience to make sure you get through the lock flight quickly and easily while conserving the water during your passage.

Caen Hill opening times

  • Locks 29 and 44 are locked at the end of each day and reopened at 8am the following morning
  • From 1 April to 30 September: 8am to 4:30pm, last entrance at 2pm
  • From 1 October to 31 March: 8am to 4pm, last entrance at 1pm

Please note: no mooring between locks 44 and 29.

Caen Hill Marina at the bottom of the flight near Foxhangers, has a selection of boating facilities and services.
