Curious about a career at the Canal & River Trust? Our Virtual Career Taster Days give you a behind-the-scenes look at the diverse roles within the Canal & River Trust—all from the comfort of your home or school.

These interactive sessions are designed to inform and inspire, helping you understand the career paths available while learning about the impact of our work in protecting 2,000 miles of waterways across England & Wales.

Fun facts about our work

  • The Trust manages a huge variety of assets, including bridges, locks, aqueducts and reservoirs

  • We manage over 2000 listed buildings, making us the third-largest owner of listed buildings in the UK

  • Our waterways provide a unique natural corridor for wildlife, including otters, kingfishers, dragonflies and water voles

  • The Trust is actively involved in fighting climate change - our network of canals and river navigations in the hearts of our towns and cities are perfectly placed to provide ‘net zero' solutions and climate change mitigation
