Llangollen moorings
-
Mooring is available on the towpath east of Llangollen Wharf, or on the pontoons in the basin beyond it
-
You can stay for up to two nights on the towpath or on most of the pontoons, or up to five nights on the two pontoons nearest the feeder. All moorings are first come, first serve, and can’t currently be booked ahead
-
Moorings are £13 a night from 2 April 2024, payable at Llangollen Wharf café. If you arrive late and the café is closed, please call in the next morning to pay – cash or card accepted
-
It’s not possible to pay for these moorings on our website, and we aren’t currently taking bookings ahead of your visit. However, there are a good number of moorings available, and you can normally find somewhere suitable. If you’re planning on coming for the Eisteddfod or other popular event, it is worth arriving a little earlier to improve your chances of getting your preferred berth
-
Electric hook-ups are provided as part of the moorings, and water and waste facilities are available
-
Mooring during the day, up to four hours, incurs no charge
-
Please note that the approach to Llangollen is very narrow, and at busy times you may have to wait to pass other boats. However there is plenty of space to turn your boat round in the basin
-
We’re investing in some clearer, updated signage to help visitors know the arrangements for mooring and payment
-
We’re actively seeking funding to convert the bollards to ‘pay as you go’ electricity supply, in line with the majority of bollards at other sites, and to make other improvements to the moorings
-
We’re always on the lookout for volunteers to help us monitor and improve the moorings. If you're interested keep a look out for ranger and towpath taskforce on our volunteer pages
We hope you enjoy your next visit to the moorings in Llangollen as much as your last. If you do have any feedback, please email us or call 0303 040 4040.
