The charity making life better by water

Treasure Your River

We’re pleased to be working with environmental charity Hubbub and other partners in Nottingham to support the anti-littering Treasure Your River campaign.

Treasure Your River runs alongside our own Plastics Challenge which aims to stop the flow of half a million pieces of plastic from our waterways into the ocean each year. In Nottingham we're highlighting that items dropped into the Nottingham & Beeston Canal are washed into the River Trent and eventually out into the sea.

As part of the campaign we'll be holding fun family events at Castle Wharf on 18 July and 19 September. At each event people will be able to tackle litter with remote controlled litter-busting boats, have a go at our free canoe and paddleboard taster sessions and explore the catch of the day at a very special fishmongers stall serving up a banquet of freshly caught litter.

Throughout the summer we'll also be holding regular volunteer clean ups along the Nottingham & Beeston Canal.
