Lancaster Canal

We currently have a closure to the navigation and towpath on the Northern section of the Lancaster Canal at Stainton Aqueduct.  The aqueduct has sustained some damage in the recent poor weather.  Investigations are ongoing and up to date information can be found here.

We have also experienced some over-topping issues which have resulted in towpath surface repairs, boundary walls and other issues to be addressed by our teams.

Leeds & Liverpool Canal

Again, we have experienced some over-topping issues which have resulted in towpath surface repairs, boundary walls, fallen trees and other issues to be addressed by our teams.  So far, it has not been necessary to close any locations due to damage.  However, we continue to inspect for damage and will keep customers updated on any issues that arise.
