What you'll be doing
In this role you will support the face-to-face (F2F) in fundraising at a regional level, engaging with local communities, schools, sports clubs and faith groups. You will form part of the F2F team and attend meetings and training sessions within the F2F team.
You will be trained and equipped to assist the local regional teams, and F2F fundraising teams, attending events, large and small within the region on an ad hoc basis. You will help promote fundraising generally within the region and also inspire others to sign up to be a volunteer themselves by promoting our volunteer schemes.
Example tasks may include:
- assisting regional colleagues at one-off community led fundraising events, e.g. meeting and greeting guests, selling raffle tickets, making teas/coffees, running a stall at a local community festival
- assist regional colleagues and F2F team at regional events such as winter works and open days. You'll be liaising between the regional organisers and F2F fundraising team in a supporting role, especially at busy times when more assistance is needed to speak to the public and direct them to F2F fundraisers

- administration work – from time to time we have projects that we need help with such as internet research, data inputting or managing spreadsheets
- adhere to the IOF and Fundraising Regulator Code of conduct at all times as well as all health & safety guidelines
The skills you need
The most important attributes are an ability to interact with and communicate well with others, a friendly manner and the ability to make a good first impression.
You will need a hands-on approach, a can-do attitude and the flexibility to work on your own or with others. It may be that you have an interest in the waterways and/or good local knowledge of the area, but they aren’t essential so long as you’re willing to learn more about both.
What's in it for you?
This is your chance to have a positive impact on your local waterway and community. Help local community groups and people realise the benefits of their local waterway.
Being by the water can make you happier and healthier, this role allows you to both increase your own wellbeing, as well as encouraging others to improve theirs by taking on a challenge by water or arranging their own community led event.
