The charity making life better by water

The Rotary Club of Aldridge

Adopts the length of canal between Stubbers Green to Dew End Lane on the Rushall Canal.

The group consists of members of the Rotary Club that are keen to make a difference within their local community, also working with other local groups to assist with tasks.

The group are doing a fantastic job working closely with the local Trust team to re-lay sections of the towpath through Rushall near Walsall in the West Midlands to improve the surface of the canal towpath and increase the overall look of the area. They litter pick the local area, trim hedges and minor vegetation tasks are completed when necessary.

All are welcome

The Rotary have adopted the major section of the canal skirting Aldridge on behalf of the community. They believe that many will feel as passionate about the canal as they do about the floral displays in the village and the areas of seating at the Garden of Reflection, the Bonner Garden, the Cenotaph and the Croft. The canal from Stubbers Green Road to Daw End Lane is a pleasant meandering walk. But there's plenty of work to do: re-exposing the water's edge brick work, removing brambles, cutting back hedgerows even litter picking.

They have organised work parties on certain Wednesday and Sunday mornings and welcome anyone who is keen to get involved to come along’Bryntysilio Outdoor Education Activity Centre, Llangollen.
