Please join us for a fun leisurely walk along the canal. You'll learn a lot and meet new people!
We'll meet at the Blu Ivy Cafe (Stop D Haverfield Green/Grove Rd on Bus route 8 is the closest to Blu Ivy Cafe) past Lock #8 on the Regent's Canal with its new top gate. We'll stop here to go through the basics of a "standard" lock pound, gates, windlasses, paddles, chamber, gates, lower pound. Then we'll go past Acton's Lock and recap of the "naming of parts" of a lock. Then we'll go on to the City Lock to stop, look, and explain the business at hand. There will be historical parts along the way to point out and talk about coming up to Acton's Lock and then beyond. They'll be opportunities to stop along the way.
