The charity making life better by water

Guided walk around Tardebigge Wharf

Starts: 20 September 2025

Ends: 21 September 2025

10am-4:30pm

St Bartholomews Church car park, B60 3AH

Volunteer guides will provide a snapshot of canal building activities of 200 years ago and explain the aims of water management from the summit of the longest narrow lock flight in Britain.

The story of the Wharf and the surrounding landscape is placed into context visiting the current wharf and sites of past quays, quarries, rail tracks, lime kilns and the site of the experimental boat lift which today is replaced with a double depth lock and has recently been the site of a major repair and conservation project.
