Accreditation and awards
We offer a wide range of award and accreditation options to help you get the most out of working or volunteering with us, whether it’s a certificate of attendance, an informal award or a nationally recognised qualification.
Here are a few different options that are widely available across England and Wales. It’s also worth having a chat with your regional team to see what else may be on offer in your local area.
John Muir Award
The John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme. It supports people to connect with, enjoy and care for the natural environment, with a focus on wild places.
It was launched in 1997 by the John Muir Trust, which was formed in 1983 to safeguard and conserve wild places in the UK. The John Muir Trust’s vision is of a world where wild places are protected, enhanced and valued by and for everyone.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
We're a licensed Volunteering Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE), which means we are licensed to provide volunteering opportunities for participants across the country.
For this scheme you must be aged 16 years and over. We do not generally encourage under 16s to volunteer with us unless it's through a recognised youth group or partnership (such as Scouts), or through a youth project led by us which is supervised by checked and trained professionals.
ASDAN offers curriculum approved programmes and qualifications that focus on developing learning, employment and life skills. We're are now an ASDAN centre and can offer this accreditation nationally.
