Our canals and rivers have the potential to make people happier, reconnect with their local community and improve their wellbeing. This pack will help you learn and understand more about wellbeing.

This pack will help you learn about how spending time enjoying our wonderful waterways can improve mental health and wellbeing. As well as facts, figures and top tips for you to watch and read, there’s loads of things to create and do that will help you feel good and be kinder to yourself.
And we’ll help you take your next steps to better wellbeing, by making changes to your lifestyle or getting involved in a volunteering project.
Activities to download
Some of our activities involve getting together with other people or visiting your local canal or river. Please follow national and local government guidance at all times. Consider saving the activity for a later date if there are lockdown restrictions in your area.
If you're visiting the waterways, please keep your distance from both other people and moored boats. There may be people living aboard who are self-isolating or shielding.
