We have completed works to rebuild the Grade II Listed Hazelhurst Bridge on the Caldon Canal.

The towpath and navigation are now open.

Contractors will be on site demobilising and clearing the site over the next week.

We would like to update our customers regarding ongoing works at Bridge 37, Hazelhurst.

There have been several challenges which have resulted in the requirement to extend this towpath closure by 2 weeks, taking the end date to Thursday 13th July.

We have also had to extend the navigation closure until Thursday 6th April. After this, a navigation restriction will be in place. Further information for this can be found here:

Please be advised we will be closing this section of the canal underneath Bridge 37 to facilitate the building of a new bridge.

Diversion signage will be in place.
