Contractors working on behalf of Midland Metro have requested a two week delay to the start of this stoppage. The end date is not affected.

The navigation will now be closed from 22nd February until 19th March 2021.

As part of the repairs to the bridge, a new bridge deck was due to be installed during this stoppage. However, there have been delays in the fabrication of the deck and this will now be installed at a later date, under a night-time only closure. Details regarding this will be published when the dates have been agreed.

Description

As part of the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension, Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) has requested a closure to carry out repairs to the bridge to make it ready to take the new metro line.
