We are please to announce that as of 01/07/2020 both the River Severn and the Gloucester & Sharpness canal will be fully open as per our normal Summer Hours of 08:00 to 19:00.
No booking in advance will be required.
Please note that Sharpness Lock still has restrictions in place as per the below notice

We are pleased to advise that we are expecting the Gloucester and Sharpness bridges to be fully manned and available on normal summer hours, from 1st July.
The River Severn Navigation will follow a few days later to allow time for staff training, which will take a little longer than usual due to Covid precautions.
We would like to thank our boating customers for their patience while we have been making arrangements for reopening and will confirm a date for the River Severn, later this week.

We are pleased to advise that from June 1st, the Gloucester & Sharpness bridges (and River Severn locks) will be available between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00.
The booking system will remain in place for the coming weeks however, due to the reduced number of staff currently available, and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this time.
Please call 07710 175170 to arrange your journey, giving 24 hours' notice of your plans.
In the meantime (until the 1st June), the bridges remain available for booked passage (with 24Hrs notice please) between 10:00 and 14:00.

Please be advised that due to Covid-19 the following restrictions will be in place for the whole of the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal.
The Canal will be open only between 10:00 and 14:00 for essential boat movements
Booking will be required by all vessels wishing to move through bridges on the canal 24hrs in advance but customers are asked to only move if essential to reach services and to follow government guidance at all times.
