A community religious event (involves placing a small clay statue into the canal), organised by Rugby Vinayaka Chavithi committee, is planned for Saturday 30 August on the Oxford Canal.
The event will take place on the canal in Brownsover just below Masters Bridge, 58, near Brownsover waterpoint.
The ceremony will take place between 10am and 5pm.
